I am forwarding the message below to the readers to let you know that our
colleagues Tetiana Zubenko from Mykolaiv and Nina Lyulkun from Khmel'nyts'kyi had a great opportunity to participate at the last among 12 video conferences prepared, organized and run by two CALL associations: ARCALL in Argentina and AVEALMEC in Brazil which have been interested in promoting the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in a language classroom. Two countries, two CALL associations have joined forces to organize this first regional event to help spreading the word on the role of ICT in a language classroom. This first conference focused on social networks and their potential to create Cops to share, communicate without barriers and enhance the teaching-learning process in the language classroom.
They had run this conference at Moodle platform for 4 days in the way of forums and video-conferences at WiZiQ. It is a very good tool for running such online video conferences.
Nina Lyulkun planned to teach and to learn herself how to manage to run such events with the help of WiZiQ during
the Moodle Workshop online which have already taken place at Khmel'nyts'kyi National University Moodle platform. There were 15 TESOL-Ukraine members signed up for the course to learn how Moodle platform can be used for educational and other purposes. As far as Tetiana Zubenko has been still working hard to learn as much as possible about creating courses online, she got an opportunity to join two of the video sessions in November. We were really amazed to listen and watch the presenters who shared wonderful ideas about 'Social Networking'.
If anyone still is interested in using and running conferences online, sent a short message to email account at nina.lyulkun[at]gmail.com . Tetiana and Nina will be happy to teach you.

"I'd like to join Alisa in congratulating you on your latest technology endeavor! Online conferences open up a whole new world of collaboration and learning. In addition, it seems that this technology might provide a way for TESOL Ukraine and Hawaii TESOL members to hold some kind of event together. I might be far from Hawaii right now, but I'm still a cheerleader for the partnership!"
Sally La Luzerne-Oi, Hawaii TESOL / TESOL-Ukraine liaison
Besides mentioned above I am delighted to let you know that there will be again 6-week sessions for everyone who would like to learn more about IT (Internet Technologies) for educational purposes in Jan.-Febr. 2010. Please visit the Announcement Web page to select one among the various offerings.
Virtual Round Table - another Conference online
The Virtual Round Table conference was a 2-day live online conference which took place on Thu/ Fri 12-13
November 2009. It was all about "language learning with technology" and was a completely 'green' conference since no-one has to travel to attend.
We (participants from all over the world, Sally la Luzerne, Tania Zubenko and Nina Lyulkun) had an opportunity to watch and listen to more than 20 sessions, 5 panel discussions, more
than 35 guest speakers and especially to meet delegates from more than 50 countries who had signed up on the Virtual Round Table Conference site.
The sessions took place in two different virtual classrooms (Adobe and Elluminate) and in Second Life and we experienced the lively virtual round table panel discusssions, workshops, product presentations, tours in Second Life, language classes live online and much more.
As a highlight, there were 5 panel discussions.
