Greetings from Hawaii-Ukraine

Dear Members of TESOL Ukraine,
It's hard to believe that I'm typing this posting at Khmel'nyts'kyi National University! I have been in Ukraine since May 12 on a one month Fulbright grant.
My stay began in Kryvyi Rih where I worked with Maryna Tshelska and her enthusiastic colleagues to continue developing an academic writing program. Many thanks to Maryna, her colleagues, and the students of Kryvyi Rih Pedagogical University for hosting me and for their hospitality.
After that, I stopped in Vinnytsia to visit my dear friends at Vinnytsia Pedagogical University. The campus has changed immensely, but not the teachers. They remain as warm and professional as ever! I'm so happy I could see them again!
Now my trip is coming to an end in Khmel'nyts'kyi, my first trip to this city. It will be a short stay; I'm leaving early Wednesday morning. After writing to Nina Lyulkun for so long, it's good to see where she works. Now I'll be able to imagine her sitting at this computer when I receive a message from her!
If all goes well, I will also meet Svitlana Radzievskaya to discuss the TESOL Ukraine-Hawai'i TESOL Partnership on Wednesday morning. Then I'll be leaving on Thursday morning. Of course, I hope you will send me any ideas you may have for partnership activities and that one day, I'll get to meet more of you.
I wish you all a good summer vacation!

Aloha,
Sally La Luzerne-Oi

Dear Sally,

It is so touching to have you here in Khmel'nyts'kyi after long years of communicating via email only and once f2f in Baltimore. We appreciate your taking time to visit with us these few days. We do hope you enjoy the time staying here. We are looking forward to your workshop tomorrow.
